What is Poem Harvest…

Poem harvest is a multimedia art project that exemplifies how beautiful we can make this world when we work together everyday to create.

Create Community. Create Art. Create Change.

  1. Poem Harvest started out with a simple poem. A message that reminds us we get to choose what comes to us like breath does. To live a life that is in pursuit of that purpose and passion.

  2. Poem Harvest is a 7,000 sq ft painting that I (Krystal with a k ) will be painting. The painting itself will be made out of 4,800 smaller painting parts and when they all come together they will create the final image.

  3. Poem Harvest is an art package. In May, after the painting has been assembled and the drone photograph has been taken, you will have the ability to purchase your very own Poem Harvest. Each box will include a print of the poem, a print of the final painting, and a single original square. There will only be 4,800 poem harvests available for this season.

  4. After the launch of the Package, poem harvest will also become a short film. The film itself will be again based on the Poem Breath and encapsulate that message we hope the whole world to hear - you get to do what comes to you like breath does.

Meet the Artist

Krystal with a K has built her arts career in a multifaceted way. She has years of painting, film directing, acting and project management under her belt and has yet to find the desire to create with only one medium. Just as humans are most well loved and understood in their complexity, it is her belief that art is also best expressed in complexity. Poem harvest for the consumer is a great story that you can then purchase to receive a painting, a poem and a print. But that is only one layer.

In her years of film acting, directing and producing she has learned the value of storytelling for both the human experience and for that of marketing. As she produced and created her own gallery shows and events she has learned the impact of bringing community together in accessible ways to enjoy the arts. Impact being both fiscal and through human connection.

And so Poem Harvest aims to weave the gifts of art, with the gifts of human connection, to produce something that both fiscally profits and supports even more art and small business.

Like breath does 

And when you read that I’m sure you imagine 

The thing that is easiest 

But breathing doesn’t come easy 

It just does 

It must 

It’s imperative

It’s necessary 

I can’t tell you how many times my breath has been stolen from me

Or I have run away from it 

Or I have held it out of fear 

I can’t begin to explain to you the depths of breath 

that this life has taught me 

How drinking in air 

Is best for singing 

If I only use my mouth 

It’s like I’m ascending 

And if I need more power 

Then through my nose it should go

You see 

Breath continues to surprise me 

It’s something that I get to know every day 

So when I say you get to do what comes to you like breath 

I mean you get to follow the thing that must exists 

The thing that teaches you everyday 

The imperative, the necessary, the every road leads to this place 

That, that is how you get to be spend your days
